Fun Fair

The Fun Fair Committee exists to coordinate the most anticipated event of the school year!  We welcome all Homestead students, staff, families, friends and our surrounding community to join us on this special day.  There are games for all ages, inflatables to bounce around on, prizes to win, food to eat and plenty of raffles!!!

We are always looking for donations from local businesses to contribute toward our raffles.  This is a great opportunity for our Fun Fair visitors to win some wonderful prizes while we raise money for our school.  If you or someone you know may be interested in donating, please contact the Committee Chair.

2011 - 2012 Plans and Areas of Focus

The Fun Fair is a Homestead highlight every year! This family event offers games, basket raffles, inflatables, food and lots of fun for everyone! Kids love to see their school transformed into a carnival for the day and it's a great way to ease the cabin fever in the winter! There are many opportunities to volunteer and you will still have plenty of time to enjoy the event with your family! The Fun Fair is Saturday, March 3

Program Ideas:

Tie the events to the school’s annual theme

Set various games in classrooms or throughout such as mini-golf, bowling, bingo or karaoke

Host different ‘tournaments’ such as ping-pong, soccer-kicking contest or talent show

Rent inflatables such as moonwalk, giant slide, mountain climb

Create a dedicated space for little ones such as a peewee pumpin patch that is off-limits to older kids

Organize the event into a life size game such as ‘Life’ or ‘Candyland’ -- make each classroom a part of the game

Bring in face painters and balloon artists

Bring in a mime or juggler to entertain

Have Lucky the Husky (school mascot) roaming around the event

Committee Chair Responsibilities:

The fun fair committee chair is responsible for coordinating the event. This includes securing vendors, volunteers and leading a committee of people to organize the events - games, activities and concessions.

Volunteers:

This committee relies heavily on volunteers to make the Fun Fair successful! Information on volunteering is sent home in Friday Folders as the event draws near or you can contact the Committee Chair any time to sign up to help with planning the event.
