Boxtops for Education and Tyson - Boxtops, Campbell's soup labels and Tyson Project A+ labels clipped by Homestead families and turned in to the PTA.  The PTA then turns them in to their respective corporations for donations of money and supplies.  For more information about the Boxtops program, visit the  Boxtops Committee's web page.

 

Culver's Night - A monthly evening at Culver's in Oswego on Route 34.  Culver's donates 20% of Homestead family purchases to Homestead's PTA.  The classroom with the highest amount of purchases each month wins a classroom ice cream party.  Click here for more information.

Beautification Committee - Monies spent to beautify the school grounds beyond what is done under the standard school/custodial contract.  For more information about Beautification, visit the Beautification Committee's web page.

Calendar Magnets - Magnets sent home in the summer mailing to help remind parents about dates during the year.

Ellison Dies & Cabinet - The Ellison dies are purchased for the teachers to use.  They are paper cutting die-cut machines and dies located in the teacher's work area.

 

Emergent Needs Fund - Emergency funds set aside for that purpose.

 

Executive Board Administration - Stamps and paper goods for the PTA cabinet.  Also the purchase of miscellaneous items such as a file cabinet so that we can store all of our paperwork for future PTA Executive Committees and small holiday gifts for the teachers.

Field Day - Covers the costs involved in running a school-wide Field Day at the end of the school year.

Liability Insurance - The cost of insurance coverage provided by the Illinois PTA.

 

LRC - Accelerated Reader Incentives - The purchase of incentives for the Accelerated Reader program.

 

LRC - Books - The purchase of books for the Learning Resource Center of Homestead.

 

Main Office Allowance - The PTA Committees use the copier in the school's main office to create the flyers relating to PTA happenings.  At times, copies are also sent offsite to a copy center.  This line item covers the cost of using the copier toner and the offsite copy center.

Monthly Meeting - Child Care - Covers the cost of providing babysitting services during regular monthly PTA meetings.

PTA Convention and accessories - Pays the registration fee for up to 6 people to attend the PTA Convention.  The individuals who usually go are on the Executive Committee, but you don't have to be.  The convention provides training for officers and networking.  Accessories are extra books or things that are needed from the PTA store.

Room Party Reimbursements - Room Representatives run  three annual in-classroom parties held per year - Halloween, Holiday and Valentine's.  This line item covers the cost of reimbursement for supplies for these parties up to $20 per classroom per party.  For more information about Room Reps, visit the Room Reps Committee's web page.

Volunteer / Teacher Appreciation Committee/Birthday - Provides supplies for teacher appreciation week, a volunteer appreciation breakfast, conference dinners, birthday cards, etc.

 

Welcome Packets - Homestead PTA gives welcome packets to all students who are new to the area.  These packets are distributed during the first week of school.  This line item covers the cost of putting these packets together.
